About KSSM Form 1–3
Form 1 to Form 3 is lower secondary under KSSM, the national secondary curriculum. PT3 was abolished in 2022, so students are assessed in school, including the end-of-year UASA test. From 2027, Form 3 students will also sit Learning Matrix papers in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science and Sejarah.
These years build the base for SPM: Mathematics, Science and English in particular carry straight on into Form 4 and Form 5. Tuition here is often about closing gaps before upper secondary rather than exam drilling.
Questions parents ask
Is there still a PT3 exam?
No. PT3 was abolished in 2022. Form 1 to Form 3 students are assessed in school, and Form 3 students will sit the Learning Matrix papers from 2027.
