About A-Level Maths (9709)

Cambridge International A Level Mathematics (9709) is built from six papers: Pure Mathematics 1, 2 and 3, Mechanics, and Probability & Statistics 1 and 2. AS students take Paper 1 with Paper 2, 4 or 5; the full A Level takes Papers 1, 3, 4 and 5 or Papers 1, 3, 5 and 6. Exams are in June and November, and a scientific calculator is used in every paper.

Grades depend on thresholds Cambridge sets after each series rather than fixed percentages. Paper 1 is compulsory on every route, so strong algebra and functions pay off everywhere. Our A-Level Maths 9709 guide covers the papers, routes and thresholds.
