About Cambridge Checkpoint English

Cambridge Lower Secondary English (0861) is for students who use English as a first language; schools teaching it as a second language use English as a Second Language (0876) instead, and a student can sit only one of the two Checkpoint tests. The tests are taken at the end of Stage 9 in the March, May or October series.

Results come as a score from 0 to 50 with a band from Basic to Outstanding, plus strand results that show where your child is strong or weak — a useful starting point for tuition before IGCSE.
